Terminology

 

 

bam(!):  an expression of accomplishment and satisfaction exclamation always implied with this interjection

            replaces the words nailed it, nailing it, boom, and yes!

 

beat one's face: a compliment to a queen with the perfect amount and shades of makeup to make her look fierce

           replaces the compliment, I love your makeup, your makeup looks good,  you look so pretty today

 

Beyonce: usually one is fierce because they are working it

         replaces compliments like sooo good and great job

        replaces adjectives like rockstar, amazing, wonderful, inspiring

 

big girl: a noun for the queens with more to love

         replaces the noun plus size

 

Booger:  a noun for a queen who hasn’t reached the genteel mannerisms of a lady      

        replaces the adjective uncouth, rude, uncultured

 

BGB(!)an expression for farewells to someone who you find unsavory; it is an  acronym for “bye, girl, bye”

      replaces see you loser, there she/he goes, get out of here, bye Felicia

 

chicken cutlets: this magical inventions make any lacking queen a voluptuous goddess with D cups instantly

     replaces toilet paper, pads, victoria secret push up bras, or plastic surgeries

 

drag mother: a mentor and guide to a new or young queen in the big, bad drag world

        replaces Mr. Miyagi, Yoda, Dr. X, Gandalf, Nick Fury, and any other fierce coach or teacher,  

 

drag daughter: an apprentice and student who is constantly learning from their drag mother

       replaces the Karate Kid, Luke Skywalker, Wolverine, Frodo, any Avenger

 

fierce: one of the ultimate compliments or adjectives for a queen, the term likens the queen to Queen B herself, 

 

gurl / giiirrrl: a term that is usually exclaimed towards another queen for endearment, surprise, or friendly chastisement, and the second syllable is usually dragged out and emphasized

      replaces words like Whaaat, Noo!, Sweetheart, Angel Face, or Friend

 

haus:  A respected group of queens related through drag mothers and daughters; similar to a fraternity or sorority

      replaces words like family, organization, posse, crew, team

       a few well known and active houses include: House of Givenchy, House of Ninja, House of Prada, and House of Xtravaganza

 

hunty: Similar to gurl/giirl, but with less negatory connotation and more endearment. It is a conglomeration of certain c word and the sweet, affection word honey

     replaces terms like honey, baby, sweet child, and darling

 

ladyboy: Another name or label for a man who partakes in women’s fashion and behavior for enjoyment

 

live: A way to describe one’s enjoyment or an encouragement to a queen on stage; rhymes with give; sometimes exclaimed as Liiive!

      replaces words like, had fun, enjoyed, had a good time

     replaces encouragement like get it, do it, doing great

 

read: The witty and classy art of tearing down someone’s ego or appearance; to criticize, to insult; usually performed with ease and poise

     replaces phrases like insult, verbal argument, putting someone down

 

realness: This adjective is usually stated to a queen who has put together genuine appearance or act of a well known theme

      replaces adjectives like believable, authentic, convincing

 

sickening: a description of something or someone that is amazing or inspiring

     replaces words like incredible, marvelous, stunning

 

Shade, Throwing Shade, Shady: a word/phrase that implies a subtle insult or criticism towards an individual or group of people; the phrase can be used for implied face to face or behind the back insults

     replaces words/phrases likeWoah, gossip, bash, bad-mouth, sass, zinger

 

trade:  a hot boy; someone you go after with all your being

       replaces words like hot, sexy, attractive "Ooo look at that trade!"

tuck: a magical art in which a queen does not bulge noticeably between the legs when dressed as a woman; the tool used is normally duct tape; certain “jewels” get tucked away from people’s prying eyes

     replaces a real penis and balls with an illusion of a vagina

 

Work(!)/weerk: a word that means to the same thing in English, but also implies a recognition of fierceness from one queen to another; an encouragement to a performing queen that is synonymous to Liiive(!)

    commonly phrased as You werked/worked it or You did werk/work on that stage

 

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas: A word that if you don’t snap repetitively, while saying it with a roller coaster intonation in your voice and having slightly nasal placement of the sound, then you’re doing it wrong

     replaces any bland word for expressing excitement like cool, can’t wait, that’s awesome, wow, no way
